I’ve always believed that every reader has their own quirks, those tiny habits that feel completely normal to us but absolutely adorable (or confusing) to everyone else.
After spending years with books, bookstores, and all the chaos that comes with being a reader, I’ve realised that these little things make reading even more personal.
So today, I’m sharing a few pieces of my reading personality, the ones I never questioned, and the ones all readers secretly relate to.
1. I look for more books from authors I fall in love with
2. I absolutely judge books by their covers (proudly)
3. I love thrifted and second-hand books more than new ones
4. I love the smell of books, both old and new
5. I tend to get lost in bookstores for hours
Sometimes it’s the smallest habits that define us as readers like the way we pick books, the way we browse, the kind of stories we’re drawn to, and the little rituals we build along the way.
Reading is deeply personal. And I think that’s the magic of it. No two readers are ever the same.
I’d love to know What’s one of your reader quirks?
With love and lots of stories,

I don’t know if I have quirks but I do have to like the view of the book. I also read the back cover and maybe an intro. I have to get hooked quick. Good books get me in 2 pages I have struggled sometimes with 25-50 pages then it got good but something there did not hook me but held me out of curiosity. However I will never dump a book even if I hate it. I read all 1200 pages of Atlas Shrugged. That was horrible
Hahaha I feel this sooo much! I’m exactly like that about the vibe of a book. That said, I really admire your commitment to never DNF-ing a book. That’s serious reader dedication.
Well since I paid for it I’m reading. Everything offers something
