As always, February too started with a plan. A very organised, very optimistic plan.
But, of course, who follows the plan?
Hereโs my little monthly reading diary of what I planned, what I actually read, what I added impulsively (because of course I did!), and what got pushed to March.
The Original February TBR was:
- The Seven Year Slip
- And the Crowd Went Wild
- The Exception
- Before the Coffee Gets Cold
- It Just Had to Be You
- A Week to Be Wicked
- Always You
- Perfect
But some books quietly entered the chat mid-February:
- The Marriage Bet
- From Rags
- Wear Something Red
Reading Goal Check
2026 Goal: 150 Books
January: 8
February: 9
Total read: 17
Remaining: 133
Slow and steady. No pressure. Just consistent reading and enjoying the process.
And hereโs my visual diary of the same:

Wow, good for you! I’m not that intentional about my monthly reading list. This year’s goal was to read every single book in my bookcase before reading anything new. I’m always acquiring books and some have been sitting there patiently waiting for a couple of years ๐ I had to take a detour from that plan when someone recommended Barbara Kingsolver’s Demon Copperhead as a must read. It’s fabulous, but at 550 pages it has pretty much taken all of my reading time for February (I’m a slow reader, I love to savor!)
That actually sounds like such a lovely goal, to read through your own bookcase first! I feel like many of us keep collecting books with the best intentions, and then they patiently wait their turn for years. ๐
I read and wrote a review for Before The Coffee Gets Cold for my blog. Wasnโt a huge fan, even though itโs a cute healing fiction. Waaaay too repetitive.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I always love hearing different perspectives on books ๐โจ
