In the Darkness of Shards is a collection of poems that feels very personal and intimate. Through these poems, the author slowly unfolds a story. Beginning with love, moving through the emotions and experiences that come with it, and eventually reaching a place of self-realisation and healing.
The poems trace the journey of a woman who once believed in love deeply, experienced the highs and the heartbreak that came with it, and slowly began to understand herself better through those moments. One of the strongest themes in the book is the idea that love should never feel toxic or diminishing. Through pain and reflection, the author begins to rediscover her own worth and identity.
What I appreciated about this collection is how raw and honest it feels. Some poems are soft and reflective, while others carry a quiet sadness and vulnerability. At times the emotions feel heavy and heartbreaking, and at other moments they are hopeful, almost like watching someone slowly piece themselves back together.
It reads like a very personal journey told through poetry. A story of love, loss, growth, and ultimately finding yourself again after everything.
