Book Review: The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

There are very few time travel books that I genuinely like. For me, itโ€™s usually either love or hate, and The Seven Year Slip definitely lands in the former category.

I loved the way the author handled the time slip in this story. Sometimes time travel plots can feel confusing or forced, but here it felt surprisingly believable and very natural within the story. More than anything, it keeps you curious. You constantly want to know what happened before, whatโ€™s going to happen next, and how everything will eventually connect.

At its heart, this book is a beautiful story about change, healing, friendship, and the memories of the people we love. Thereโ€™s a quiet emotional depth to it that makes the story feel both comforting and bittersweet at times.

I especially loved the FMC, Clementine, or Lemon as she is called by our MMC. She starts the story guarded and a little lost, but watching her slowly understand her own feelings, her past, and what she truly wants from life was one of the most satisfying parts of the book.

And then thereโ€™s the MMC, Iwan, also known as James. Truly one of the greenest flags in romance. Kind, thoughtful, passionate about food, and just the kind of character you canโ€™t help but root for. Honestly, if someone like him existed in real life, a seven-year time slip might just be worth it.

The romance is soft, heartfelt, and emotional in the best way. Itโ€™s not just about the love story, but also about finding your place in the world and learning to move forward while still holding onto the memories that shaped you.

This book lands a solid 4 stars out of5 for me, and honestly, I really should have read it sooner.
