September started with me making a very reasonable TBR. Eight books. Totally doable. I was going to stick to the list, read them one by one, and, for once, not get distracted by other books.
Looking at my September TBR vs. what I actually read, I did pretty well with the original list. I managed to read all eight books I had planned, which honestly deserves a little celebration! But, of course, I also picked up a few extra books along the way because apparently my TBR and I have a very complicated relationship.
Original September TBR
- Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood
- How to Ruin a Rake by Kate Pearce (ARC)
- Troublemaker by Linda Howard
- Normal People by Sally Rooney
- All or Nothing at All by Jennifer Probst
- Trust No One by Jayne Ann Krentz
- Cold in the Shadows by Toni Anderson
- Hard Line by Pamela Clare

The best part of a monthly TBR check-in is probably seeing how different the final reading pile looks from the original plan. I start the month thinking I know exactly what Iโm going to read, and then a random book comes along and suddenly my carefully planned TBR means absolutely nothing.
Now, letโs see how October behavesโฆ although we all know Iโm probably going to make a TBR and then completely ignore half of it.
