Okay, so I have done it again.
This time, I came home with 11 books, which is already enough to make my TBR look at me with disappointment. But there is one tiny detail that I think makes this haul completely reasonable… I have already read five of these books.
So, depending on your definition of whether this makes me smart or completely stupid, I bought the paperbacks of books I have already read. But honestly, if I loved a book enough to want a physical copy sitting on my shelf, is that really a bad decision? I think not.
The books I’ve already read are:
- Just the Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James
- Something About You by Julie James
- Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas
- Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas
- North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
And then we have the books I haven’t read yet… I have a few familiar authors in this stack, including Linda Howard and Jayne Ann Krentz, whose books I’ve been enjoying lately. There are also a couple of authors that are newer to me, which makes this haul even more exciting.
The unread pile includes:
- Secrets of Bella Terra by Christina Dodd
- Any Man of Mine by Rachel Gibson
- Now You See Her by Linda Howard
- Flash by Jayne Ann Krentz
- Trust Me by Jayne Ann Krentz
- Ghost of a Chance by Jayne Ann Krentz
And yes, I realise I somehow ended up with three Jayne Ann Krentz books in one haul. Clearly, my recent experience with her books has made an impression.
Basically, I went book shopping and came back with 11 books. Five have already been read. Six are waiting patiently for their turn.
And my TBR is pretending not to notice.
Do I need more books? Probably not.
Did I need these books? Absolutely.
