I read Till the Last Breath by Durjoy Datta in January 2024. That was the time when I was drawn to stories that felt real, and didn’t shy away from pain, love, or the complex emotions and feelings that come with growing up.
This is one of those stories that explores love, loss, illness, and hope. The narrative feels raw yet restrained, emotional yet grounded at the same time. The characters are not heroic. Shown as vulnerable, bewildered, and deeply human, which was definitely a plus. The story reflects on how fragile life can be and just being there for someone is the most powerful thing we can do.
One of the things I appreciated the most about this book is how it shows that strength doesn’t always mean being loud or brave in obvious ways. Sometimes, strength is simply choosing to love, to stay, and to hope, even when the outcome is uncertain.
A beautifully written and emotionally stirring book, Till the Last Breath leaves you with a lump in your throat and a softer heart. It’s one of those stories that makes you appreciate life a little more.
This book will always hold a quiet place in my heart for its vulnerability, and the reminder that love, even in its most fragile form, is always worth it.
With love and lots of stories,
